Leigfest_27 March 2011

This was a fabulous new festival in Geelong at Inverleigh. Immanuel and Jacqui roused up an interactive audience participation with Wild Moves. There were lots of teenage musicians who could also jump up on stage and play drums with us. Check out some photos taken on the day.

Odai at Wild Moves_19 April 2011_"Nkluma"

Our guest African teacher was from internationally acclaimed traditional Ghanaian drum and dance ensemble, WALA, which means LIFE. And that is what Odai Nmai brough to Wild Moves. Now we have a new dance to add to our repertoire from Burkina Fasso called Nkluma. Here are some of the drumming patterns and dance video for you to practice

Universal Grooves Saturday, 7 May. 7.30 - 9.30pm Bellbrae Hall. 90 School Rd.

Universal Grooves is an interactive performance where the audience gets to sing, drum and dance with World music performers or just sit and relax and soak up the atmosphere of great vibe, grooves and stories. So bring your flutes, drums, guitar and creative dance being, cushion, chair. Drums for hire.
Local artist: Kris Fitzgerald on harp followed by Red Whyte on sitar.
International guest artists, ONE AFRICA with Lamine Sonko and King Marong
...Get set for a beautiful nite of African harp, kora and traditional drumming & dancing from the Sengambian Griots of this region of West Africa.
